Neuropsychological assessment
A structured assessment of cognitive function in the context of fatigue, brain fog, functional disorders and chronic stress.
What it is
A neuropsychological assessment is a structured evaluation of cognitive functions such as attention, memory, processing speed and executive function. It is particularly useful when someone reports brain fog, forgetfulness or trouble concentrating.
In persistent fatigue, chronic pain or sustained stress, these functions really can be affected. Measuring them rigorously makes it possible to say what is happening, put it in context and guide the treatment that follows.
Who it is for
It is especially useful when there is:
- Persistent fatigue that is affecting your thinking
- Difficulty holding attention, and brain fog
- A suspected cognitive effect of chronic stress
- A functional disorder that is affecting how you manage day to day
How it works
Interview and goals
We pin down the cognitive difficulties, how they have developed and how they affect your daily life.
Testing
We use standardized instruments to assess the relevant cognitive domains.
Analysis and integration
We interpret the results in relation to your overall clinical picture, not in isolation.
Report and recommendations
We give you clear feedback covering the findings, their context and our recommendations.
What you can expect
- An objective measure of how you are functioning cognitively right now.
- An interpretation set in context, rather than a label.
- Concrete recommendations built into your treatment route.
This information is provided for general education. It does not replace an individual medical assessment and is not a diagnosis. Whether any intervention is appropriate is decided after the corresponding clinical assessment.
Frequently asked questions
Does the assessment hurt, or is it invasive?
No. It consists of interviews and tests on paper or on screen. Nothing about it is invasive.
Is brain fog real?
Yes. The cognitive difficulties that come with fatigue, pain or stress are a documented phenomenon and they can be measured.
Do I get a report?
Yes. The assessment ends with a feedback session and a written report setting out the findings and recommendations.
