Integrated medical and psychological assessment

The starting point of every process at IDENTA: a structured reading of your condition that brings the medical and the psychological together.

What it involves

What it is

The integrated medical and psychological assessment is the way into the IDENTA Model. It is not one more medical appointment, and it is not an isolated therapy session. It is a structured clinical analysis that brings your medical history, a neuropsychological examination and a psychosocial reading of your condition together into a single process.

Its purpose is to build a coherent interdisciplinary hypothesis: an explanation that connects your physical symptoms, your cognitive functioning and your emotional context, instead of splitting them between specialties that never speak to one another.

Indications

Who it is for

This assessment is particularly useful when:

  • There are persistent symptoms with no clear explanation
  • You have been to several medical appointments and nobody has put the whole picture together
  • Test results come back “normal”, but the discomfort is real and continues
  • You want a structured opinion and a clear direction before starting any treatment
The process

How it works

Integrated clinical history

We go through your medical background, previous tests and treatments, and how the symptom has changed over time in relation to what has been happening in your life.

Neuropsychological examination

We assess the cognitive and emotional functions that matter here, such as attention, working memory and regulation, which are often affected in persistent conditions.

Interdisciplinary hypothesis

We bring the findings together into a single formulation that explains the condition in both biological and psychosocial terms, rather than as separate pieces.

Feedback and route

We explain clearly what we found and propose a realistic, measurable direction for treatment within the IDENTA Model.

What to expect

What you can expect

  • An explanation you can follow of what may be happening and why.
  • A working hypothesis, rather than an improvised diagnosis or a list of tests with no purpose.
  • A proposed treatment route with clear objectives and follow-up.

This information is provided for general education. It does not replace an individual medical assessment and is not a diagnosis. Whether any intervention is appropriate is decided after the corresponding clinical assessment.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the assessment replace my own doctor?

No. The assessment gathers and organizes your clinical information in order to offer an interdisciplinary hypothesis. It works alongside your medical care, not in place of it.

Should I bring my previous test results?

Yes, as far as you can. Earlier tests, prescriptions and reports help us build a more accurate picture and avoid repeating anything unnecessarily.

How long does the assessment process take?

It depends on how complex the case is. The initial assessment defines the scope and, where appropriate, is followed by the structured psychological evaluation in phase II of the model.
